Is Barry Bonds a black history hero?

Barry Bonds recently passed Hank Aaron's 755 home run record.  It was clearly a  moment of black history.  The moment, however, was marked by significant controversy. This begs the question of whether to consider Barry Bonds (the person) a hero of black history?  Vote here and post your comments.  The poll will be running through the rest of the Major League Baseball season.

Before answering this question, I tried googling to see if I could find anything that he's explicitly done for blacks.  Couldn't find anything.  Maybe that doesn't matter to some.  More later...

Any ones thoughts: Would calling him a hero dilute Hank Aaron's accomplishments?

I didn't think a site like this existed on the internet.  I'm definitely bookmarking and checking this page each day for black history events.  Great Job.
